Piccolo was Goku's enemy once but he and Goku bacame friends when Radiz arrived to take over the planet earth. Piccolo trained Gohan for the next Saiyens that were coming to earth ( Napa and Vegeta ) and he defended Gohan from being killed by Napa by Standing on the way of Napa's blast.
